Make an Impact with a Gift of Privately Held C-Corp Stock

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Boston Foundation (TBF) are excited to offer the opportunity to make a gift to defy cancer by donating private C-Corp stock to further the mission of Dana-Farber.

Potential tax and recognition benefits include:

• Receive a current year charitable income tax deduction for stock held more than a year based on the full fair market value
• Avoid paying capital gains taxes
• Receive full recognition for your gift to The Dana-Farber Campaign

Dana-Farber will work with you to:

Determine the eligibility of the C-Corp stock, including:

• Minimum current value of $100,000
• Reasonable expectation of liquidity within 3-5 years

Gather the information needed by TBF under their gift acceptance procedures, including:

• Information about the company, including audited financial statements
• Valuation information, including qualified appraisal

Complete the gift, once approved for acceptance by TBF, including:

• Gift agreement with TBF
• Letter of intent with Dana-Farber to document your philanthropic intentions
